The official list below outlines reserved time periods - not confirmed exams. Check with your instructor whether or not the final exam for a course will be held during this time period.

Locations

The Exam Schedule lists locations where DEP conducts operator certification exams. Please visit the exam pages for more details on exam content, exam rules and conditions, and other guidelines. If you require special accommodations due to chronic illness, visual or hearing impairment, or any other disability Contact the exam provider and provide the documents when you register.



The Faculty Dashboard in Workday offers the option of "View My Teaching Schedule" that allows faculty to discover their exam schedules. Additionally, the Registrar's Office has a list of exam times for classes where an exam is required by NYSED regulations. Final exams for classes in the evening are scheduled during the regular class time of the final examination weeks.

Registration

The exam schedule is available online and students are advised to consult it. It is important to remember that the schedule for exams can be altered at any time. For this reason, students should consult with their instructors to confirm that they have the correct date and time for their exam. Students should also be sure to print out the official list and bring it with them to their exam.

In addition to the exam schedule, students should also familiarize themselves with the exam guidelines, the terms and conditions. These are available on the exam's individual page. Students acknowledge they have read and agree to the terms and conditions of registration.

Exam locations try their best to accommodate those who have special needs. The nature and extent of these requirements should be declared on the registration and verified by a doctor's attestation. Additionally the locations for the exam must respect and maintain confidentiality.

If a student is scheduled to take three exams scheduled on the same day, it is recommended to contact their instructor or department to arrange an exam to make up. It is possible to have three examinations on the same day. However, this could lead to a high level of stress and can affect the quality of the exam. In addition, the professor might not be able give a makeup exam on another day.

Before taking the exam students must prepare by studying their syllabus and practice their German skills. The exam is a paper-based test that tests the ability to read, speak and write in German. The results of the examination are presented using a scale ranging from A1 to C2. This level corresponds to the initial stage of the six-level scale of competence that is set out in the Common European Framework of Reference for Foreign Languages. The exam is free. Students must bring an official government ID to the examination. Anyone who does not have an ID with a valid photo will be disqualified from taking the examination.

Fees

You must pay an examination fee if you wish to receive the Goethe-Zertifikat (start German 1) after you have completed your Elan Academy studies. This is in addition to the course fee.

Practice assessments provide you with an overview of the style and wording, as well as the difficulty of questions on the test. They help you assess your knowledge, spot areas of weakness and increase your chances of acing the test.

Please be aware that the exam fee is not refundable. Exam results can only be sent via email and not by phone.
